How do I combine 2 pid's for the same person?

There are 2 pids for football player Kevin Austin Jr. One is Kevin Austin Jr. and the other is Kevin Austin, Jr. The comma is the only difference. This is the same player.

Always looking for Blackhawk hockey, Notre Dame Football, White Sox and Bears Stuff. I have a plaque in my card room that says, "I could have been a millionaire but my mom threw out my baseball cards". How apropos!!! Collecting Chicago Blackhawks Hockey, Doug Wilson Hockey, Chicago Bears Older, Notre Dame Football in their college jerseys and Chicago White Sox.

Decide which one stays
Copy PID # of the one that stays
Go to the PID that will be deleted
Change the PID on all of those cards to be the copied PID
Delete PID that now has no cards
Add the name that was on the deleted PID as an alias to the PID that remains.

Actually, the correct way for Jr. and Sr. suffixes is with a comma. Numbered suffix; I, II, III, is without a comma. Looks like only Sage gets an A in punctuation! Should all these non-comma cards get UERs? You can start with Tatis Jr. 13,000 cards.

Sorry, Chuck, not according to my bible -- the Associated Press Stylebook and Libel Manual:

"junior, senior Abbreviate as Jr. and Sr. only with full names of persons or animals. Do not precede by a comma: Joseph P. Kennedy Jr.

"The notation II or 2nd may be used if it is the individual's preference. Note, however, that II and 2nd are not necessarily the equivalent of junior - they often are used by a grandson or nephew."

Whatever the proper English rules are, it's better for this site if the comma is left out of the main profile name and an alias with the comma gets added afterwards. ------------------------------- * Ed * L8 * Cards in my personal Collection are unavailable *
